Meet the West 4 Women Committee
The West 4 Women Committee are volunteers who work together to organize your membership activities, events and communications. Meet the team :
DirectorI am Chair of W4W and have been a member for more than two decades. When the group first started we had less than 40 members – we now have more than 180. Currently I run the monthly book and film clubs which I love because it is great to see a film or read a book and chat about it with other like minded people.
Almost any job that gets done in my house is by someone recommended by a W4W member which is great because I am single parent who is clueless about DIY and also because I need help due to lack of time – I run my own business – strapline ‘looking at a ban better call Ann’.
I believe W4W is a great way of meeting like minded people who live locally, and over the years I have met many interesting people who have advised me about all sorts of things e.g. holidays.
W4W is a great way of making new friends and it also gives members the opportunity of experiencing things they might not otherwise have got around to e.g. learning to play bridge, having tea in the House of Lords, going on interesting guided walks … not to mention the odd party.

I joined the group in 2003 when it was still the Chiswick Working Mothers’ Group, as I wanted like-minded local friends. It completely delivered on that for me! I have met so many lovely people, learnt a lot about the local area, and done many things I would not otherwise have done. A few years ago, when we relaunched as West 4 Women, I joined the Committee as Events Organiser. I plan and manage the annual calendar of events, making sure everything is organised in advance and members know about it.

I’m a retired CFO, moving to Chiswick in 2018 after many years in Bermuda and New York. I then joined W4Women to meet local people. I’m now the Treasurer for the group. I'm also involved in Chiswick Flower Market and Friends of Turnham Green.

I joined in 2003 upon my return to work after my first child to be part of something local - move forward over 20 years – 2 adult children, a couple of major career changes later - W4W is a steady presence providing a valued friendship & support network.
I joined W4 Women around fifteen years ago, having been recommended it by Ann Crighton, a fellow mum at my son's school. Until the pandemic, I worked full-time in town, so it was great to have a local network of women who knew the area well and could provide advice on schools, local tradespeople, and anything else you might need.
When the group evolved from the original Chiswick Working Mothers group to W4 Women, with Ann as chair some years ago, I came on board as a committee member. As a committee member, I focus on tech and marketing. I set up the group's website and email platform, as well as the other platforms we use. I still administer the WhatsApp group and provide tech and marketing support.

It’s over 20 years since I joined the group. I’d gone back to work full-time after having my son and having always worked in town, I wanted to meet more people locally.
I used to do Strategy and Marketing, mainly in the Telecoms sector. After living in Switzerland for 3 years, when we came back I changed careers and now I’m a Case Worker in the West London refugee centre.
Over the years I’ve gained so much from being in W4W. “Variety is the spice of life” for me and I’ve met many lovely people and done many interesting things.
W4W is a great network for friendships, advice, recommendations and support. It’s a very warm and welcoming community to be part of.

I joined W4Women after leaving employment following several decades in Banking and Law. At a time of change, it gave me an immediate way to connect with like-minded women locally and build new friendships.
When I later set up my own business as a Colour Analyst and Personal Stylist, it became even more valuable as a trusted source for recommendations, advice and support. It’s not just a network, it’s a genuine community that continues to add value both personally and professionally.

I joined W4W during the pandemic when I suddenly realised my friends were no longer local. I wanted to meet like-minded women to do things with locally - talks, cultural events, theatre, restaurants … and so W4W was the perfect fit for me. Roll forward to today, and I have a network of new friends and acquaintances, a range of local activities to enjoy, and as a committee member (and Digital Marketer), I look after the website and regular communications.
